Bombring

FILE 00 / 04
Bombring is standard.

Bombring has been observed to construct dubious music of an electronic industrial rock consistency. The organization insists on continuing to do this periodically, which unassailably can be said to contribute to the Earth's cultural contents. This is in a quantitative more than qualitative sense, perhaps.

Recorded output is held to be a conceptually curated commentary on the state of humanity. Almost entirely. For legal reasons the ministry is unable to claim 100% conceptual consistency. Considered listening could yield deeper thinking and perspective on any variety of issues, internal to the self or otherwise. The reader may find none of this to be the case. Material is mostly about video games and robots anyway.

The remaining personnel's shadowy pasts offer no additional information. Classified dossiers of former members are understood to clutter the desks of the unsolved-crimes units of Scotland Yard, Interpol, the CIA, and more.

Nils Smijth

ACTIVE / CURRENT FORMATION

Nils Smijth was born and raised in London, England. Nils showed interest in sound and recording at a particularly young age, and immediately identified with electronic and industrial groups in his youth. Nils moved to Iceland with two close friends in 1987, meeting Rufus DeWijdt in a Reykjavík bar a few short months later.

Nils handles most of the production and engineering of the Bombring material, and has taken great care to create TEH BOMBRING SOUND. Yes, that's right… "TEH BOMBRING SOUND." A fusion of electronic, rock, experimental, and even more traditional compositional elements, TEH BOMBRING SOUND is ever evolving to take more minds by storm.

Rufus DeWijdt

ACTIVE / CURRENT FORMATION

Rufus DeWijdt was born in the heartland of the USA. He had only a few years' exposure to the culture of America before being shipped off to Iceland with his parents at a young age. Rufus's father was an amateur musician, and dabbled in styles varying from funk and blues to heavy metal and industrial music. Rufus grew up messing about with his father's instruments and recording setup, and began writing music at an early age.

After moving to Iceland, Rufus began playing in different bands of varying styles, eventually meeting Nils Smijth in an experimental noise band in 1989, and before long, Bombring was born.

Rufus is responsible for a great deal of the thematic content of the lyrics, being in possession of a great literal mind. Most of the themes in Bombring's lyrics stem from the political, social, and technological concepts and world-views that the band hold dear.

Klaas van Zuur

ACTIVE / CONTRIBUTION INTERMITTENT

Klaas van Zuur was once a guru of sorts for Bombring. In the band's early days in Reykjavík, Klaas introduced them to spiritual, mental, and social concepts that greatly enhanced the band's abilities. Klaas has consulted every past and present Bombring member, from Rufus and Nils to Frida, Keken, Jonathan G, Carlos X, and more.

In 1996, Klaas left Iceland to tour Southeast Asia and India for the foreseeable future. On his quest he learned and experienced much — from spiritual and social concepts to musical ideas and paradigms he had never considered. Klaas returned from his sojourn in early 2010, and joined the Western World once again in Los Angeles. Knowing that Rufus and Nils had moved the studio to LA, Klaas got in touch, and through various twists and turns, ended up joining the band during the Invasion: Utopia sessions.

Though he has plans to continue his travels and continue expanding his mind, the band is honoured to have worked with him on the LP. Subsequent contribution remains intermittent. Re-deployment anticipated.
